The David and Becky Brown Scholarship was established in 2020 by the Rising Sun Regional Foundation to honor David Brown for the years he served as a Rising Sun Regional Foundation Board Member. David and his wife, Becky (Slack) Brown, were both raised in Rising Sun and graduated from Rising Sun High School. David retired from the Rising Sun Ohio County School Corporation in 2016 after 37 years of teaching Fourth grade at the Ohio County Elementary-Middle School. David was involved in the school’s Athletic program, serving as a middle-school basketball coach and was the high school softball coach for 30 years. He was also actively involved in community sports by overseeing the Rising Sun Summer Baseball/Softball program for many years.
