The Wilma Lohide High School Scholarship was established by Colonel Kurt Lohide in honor of his mother, Wilma (Washmuth) Lohide. Wilma was born near East Enterprise, Indiana and graduated in 1946 from Vevay High School. In 1946, she married Karl F. Lohide. In 1951, Karl and Wilma moved to the farm in Ohio County that has been in the family since 1871 and raised their two sons, Paul and Kurt.
