TYPES OF FUNDS

Contributions and donations can be made to the Ohio County Community Foundation

UNRESTRICTED FUNDS

Unrestricted funds are funds donated without stipulation or conditions by donors who
understand that a vital community is constatnly chaning and give the Ohio County Community
Foundation Board of Directors maximum flexibility with discrtionary funds.

DESIGNATED AGENCY FUNDS

Designated agency funds are funds established for one or more particular agencies or institutions
that will be the recipients of the fund.

DESIGNATED FUNDS

Designated funds are funds established for a particular organization specified by the donor.

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS

Donor Advised Funds are funds that the donor, or someone designated by the donor, which

may be a person or group with expertise related to the purpose of the fund, advises or

makes recommendations to the foundation on the use of the grant dollars.  The recommendation

may not be binding on the foundation, which must remain free to not take the advice.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS

Scholarship funds are funds granted for scholarships with criteria specified by the donor.

FIELD OF INTEREST

Field of Interest funds are funds established by the donor for special interests such as education,

arts, youth, seniors or other interests in particular.

ACORN SOCIETY

The Ohio County Community Foundation has a society called the Acorn Society.  

This society is made up of funds that are a very important part of the future of Rising Sun and Ohio

County. Donors or Organizations who may have limited means,  make regular donations to a fund

that, after maturity into an endowment fund, will grant funds in the donors' areas of interest.
